Copyright & Upload Rights

Last updated: June 2026

This page explains your responsibilities when uploading PDF files to PDFLayerExtract.

PDFLayerExtract is operated by BEINDESIGN.

For questions, contact:

contact@pdflayerextract.com

1. Your responsibility

By uploading a PDF file to PDFLayerExtract, you confirm that you have the legal right, permission, license, or authority to upload and process that file.

You are responsible for the files you upload and for how you use the processed output.

2. Files you may upload

You may upload files that:

  • you created yourself;

  • you own;

  • your client or employer authorized you to process;

  • you are legally allowed to inspect, separate, prepare, convert or process;

  • are part of a legitimate design, prepress, print, packaging, production or technical workflow.

3. Files you must not upload

You must not upload files if:

  • you do not have the right to use or process them;

  • processing the file would violate copyright, trademark, confidentiality, trade secret, privacy or contractual obligations;

  • the file contains illegal, harmful or unauthorized material;

  • the file was obtained without permission;

  • the file contains sensitive personal, medical, financial or confidential information that you are not authorized to process through an online service.

4. PDFLayerExtract does not transfer ownership

Uploading a PDF to PDFLayerExtract does not transfer ownership of the file to us.

You keep any rights you already have in your uploaded file.

We do not claim ownership of your uploaded PDFs, previews or processed ZIP packages.

5. Limited permission to process files

When you upload a PDF, you grant PDFLayerExtract a limited permission to store, analyze, preview, process and deliver the file only as needed to provide the service.

This permission is limited to operating the PDFLayerExtract workflow, including:

  • analyzing the PDF structure;

  • detecting layers and pages;

  • generating previews;

  • creating the final ZIP package if purchased;

  • providing temporary download access;

  • diagnosing technical errors or support issues.

6. Temporary file handling

PDFLayerExtract is designed for short-term file handling.

Unpaid preview files are intended to be deleted after approximately 1 hour.

Paid processed packages are intended to remain available for approximately 24 hours after successful payment.

After that period, files may be deleted automatically and may no longer be recoverable.

7. No guarantee of source-file reconstruction

PDFLayerExtract does not create a perfect native source file reconstruction.

The service works with the PDF structure available inside the uploaded file.

The output may help create a cleaner Illustrator-ready workflow, but it does not guarantee that every object, layer, effect, text element, image, transparency, color mode or production mark will behave like an original native Illustrator, CorelDRAW, InDesign or prepress source file.

8. Professional review required

Processed files should be reviewed before production use.

You are responsible for checking the final output before using it for print, packaging, screen-printing, manufacturing, client delivery or any other production process.

PDFLayerExtract does not replace professional prepress review, proofing or production approval.

9. Third-party rights

You are responsible for respecting third-party rights, including copyright, trademarks, client confidentiality, brand guidelines, licensing restrictions and contractual obligations.

If a file belongs to a client, employer, agency, print shop or another third party, you must have permission to upload and process it.

10. Takedown or rights complaints

If you believe that a file or use of PDFLayerExtract violates your copyright or other rights, contact us at:

contact@pdflayerextract.com

Please include enough information for us to understand the issue, such as:

  • your name and contact details;

  • identification of the copyrighted or protected work;

  • description of the alleged infringement;

  • relevant URLs, file names or transaction information, if available;

  • a statement that you believe the use is unauthorized.

We will review reasonable rights complaints and take appropriate action where required.

11. Misuse of the service

We may refuse, block, delete or decline to process files where we believe the service is being misused, abused, or used in a way that may violate legal rights, security, confidentiality or acceptable use standards.
