FAQ
A few practical questions.
Which file formats can I upload?
Upload a PDF. If your artwork comes from CorelDRAW, AutoCAD or another application, use its PDF export. Original CDR, DWG and AI files are not upload formats.
Can I use a PDF with more than one page?
Yes. The analysis checks the pages and identifies their recoverable layer groups. The package contains separate files for the detected page and layer combinations.
What is included in the download?
A ZIP containing the separated, named PDF files, an Illustrator import script and instructions. The script places the recovered files into an Illustrator document in their original order.
How do I open the package in Illustrator?
Unzip the download first. In desktop Illustrator, choose File > Scripts > Other Script and select the included .jsx file. Keep the script and the rest of the extracted package together.
Will text and other objects be editable?
That depends on what the PDF contains. Text already converted to outlines stays outlined, and images stay images. Recovering the layer groups does not recreate the original source document.
What if the PDF has no recoverable layers?
The analysis reports that no usable layer structure was found. If you can get another PDF export or the original source file, use that instead; discarded layer groups cannot be recovered from the flattened file.
